THE
MUSICAL TOUCH: Kamal Sabri
|
Mesmerising. That's
what the strains of the music of the national instrument
of Finland, kantele and the Indian sarangi which could be
heard from quite a distance away, could be called. And the
effect on those who gathered on the lawns of the embassy
of Finland on that warm Sunday afternoon was magical.
Minna Raskinen
on the kantele and Kamal Sabri on the sarangi
were accompanied by Shafaat Ahmed Khan on the tabla,
Jukku Tolonen on the guitar, and Markku Ounaskari
on the drums. Together they played to be part of the
85th Independence Day celebrations of Finland.
Guests, who attended their concert Striking Notes, presented
by the Embassy of Finland and the ICCR, spoke of the success
of the concert held earlier.
